The goal of the Rutgers Environmental Research Clinic (RERC) is to participate in building coalitions that can work together to solve environmental challenges facing New Jersey. By providing applied research in the areas of the environment and natural resources, human and ecosystem health, and community development, RERC can contribute to solving many of the most pressing challenges facing our state, and ultimately our country, because New Jersey is a microcosm of the U.S.

The RERC has access to scientists with expertise in many different fields, including microbiology, biotechnology, ecology, environmental science, landscaping, environmental law and policy, plant and animal sciences. The integration of Rutgers faculty and student research in collaborative efforts with public and private entities can provides a sound scientific basis for restoration and remediation activities, as well as a rational basis for addressing New Jersey's future needs.

The RERC orientation towards "real-world" application of knowledge is a basic tenet of our mission, and is a quality that makes the Rutgers Environmental Research Clinic the natural choice for science to serve the people of New Jersey.
